Great fun for kids old and young. Lots of interesting facts for older kids and adults about Roald's life, but also lots of creative activities for younger kids. The storytelling was also really good and I would recommend catching if you can.
A normal bug-bear of mine is a gift shop, but I actually liked this one for three reasons: you don't HAVE to go into it, the prices are ridiculous and the items in there are generally stimulating/support creativity.
Overall very pleased!

Lovely little museum. Wasn't too busy when we visited on the first Thursday of the school holidays.

10/10 amazing museum. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. The place was clean and tidy, never seemed very busy which was lovely as there was no rush to get around. Our favourite parts were the Matilda bits!
Great value for money especially as your tickets valid for a year!
They had vegan sandwiches in the cafe but were missing some of the ingredients so we didn't end up ordering.
I didn't know Roald Dahl was a bereaved parent. I was nice to see parts of his daughter Olivias story in the museum and also for one exhibition to be dedicated to her.

We spent a few hours in the museum and using their map to walk around the village. The museum is engaging, informative and good fun. A must see if you've read all of his books. The walk around the village was amazing too and definitely worth visiting the cemetery but take a pencil to leave on his grave just like many others do.

I had an absolute blast of a time, this was my third time today visiting the museum, it never ends!! There is always lots to see, I spent the afternoon here today and I really enjoyed myself, there is one room "Boy" it smells like chocolate when you go in! The building and the stuff is attractive honestly it's been brilliant and I loved going outside seeing that Matilda statue and the purple gates, I had an awesome time 🤩
Money wise it's not expensive to buy an adults ticket, i was running late so when I emailed them to switch my booking time over to a later time that I could get to, they did it instantly with no wait! It was brilliant and I highly recommend this to anyone, there is too much to see.
My favourite part of the museum is not only seeing Matilda outside but the art room they have ✏️🎨

Great Missenden is the place to be for a great Chiltern trek and day out to the Museum. Don't forget to visit Roald Dahl grave around 10-15 min walk from the museum.

Fantastic little gem tucked away outside London. Loads for kids and adults to enjoy and learn from not to mention the gorgeous village it residues in. Only a shame the Donald Trump statue is no longer there but still well worth visiting.

The Museum, It wasn’t great. It’s not suitable for very young children or anyone with learning difficulties.
Nothing is interactive and the one thing that was (a wish making jar) didn’t even work.
After growing up with Roald Dahl’s books as a child I would have expected this to be a child’s best dream instead it was one big disappointment. It’s a museum that really sums up Buckinghamshire. Starchy and OLD .

The rooms are interesting to look around and it has bits for young children to enjoy but it doesn't take long to get around as it's only small. It looks like it's geared up for school visits and I imagine school children are the ones who will get the most out of this place as well as Roald Dahl fans

Great museum for all Roald Dahl fans. Wheelchair accessible. Did visit in Easter holidays so expected it to be busy and it was incredibly busy to the point where we simple couldn't get to see some bits and pieces so outside of school holidays may have been a better time to go, but not an option for us as we live far away. Shop is well stocked with lots of Roald Dahl goodies and there was a small outside cafe although we didn't get any food or drink there. Would say that you would need a couple of hours to enjoy getting around the museum longer if participating in any activities offered. Although no parking at venue there is plenty a short walk away.
